1. Determine When You Need Camp
Summer begins June 4 and ends August 10 before school begins August 13 for Duval County Public Schools. If you are working all summer, there are over 60 camps that care for kids in one place, all summer so you don't have to worry about multiple camps and changes during the summer.
If you're a stay at home parent or a teacher home for summer, there are pay by the day camps, week long morning or afternoon camps, and even evening camps for sports in the outdoors so kids can stay cooler. Find those camps by using our nifty filter! Simply go to our SUMMER CAMP home page, then click the box for the time you need camp - half day morning, half day afternoon, evening, or all day. All the camps in that time slot will pop up for you to choose from!
Some families have care from family members, but still need a few days or a week here and there for summer care (or maybe you need a week here or a week there away from the kids just in general!). For random weeks of camp, get our your calendar and, simply go to the, "Camp Week," section and click the box for the week of summer in which you are looking. Camps in that week will pop up. Or go to the, "Pay by the Day," section and click yes. Drop in camps will come up with that filter. Our summer camp filter system will make it easy for you to find camps during the week and time you need them!
2. Determine the Goals for Your Child at Summer Camp
One way to pick a camp out of thousands is to determine the goals for your child in attending camps this summer. Sit down with your child and go through our camp theme pages - Art Camps, Volleyball Camps, Water Sports Camps, and see what their interests are. Or if they need to improve on a sport or improve academics, check out the basketball camps, soccer, softball, or academics, stem and engineering camps. Is it a week of fun in a traditional summer day camp or overnight camp with swimming, outdoor activities, recreational camp, arts, or horseback riding? Check out our variety camps page, over night camps, or our new gaming and fun center camps pages. Do they want to try a new hobby like cooking, surfing, farming, chess, or public speaking? Check our specialty camps page!
