We're thrilled to be the first to announce that Downtown Jacksonville has included the world's largest tree house in the ship yards redevelopment plans! The tree house will be three stories tall and 50 years wide right on the north bank of the St. Johns River. Kids will be able to climb, swing, and slide down the tree house. There will be suspension bridges, walkie talkies available to call down to friends below, and the interior ramp leading from the ground to the upper platform will have walls lined with lollipops from a local candy store always stocked for kids. The tree tops will be lighted with Christmas Tree lights for night time play.
"We are excited to be the first city to host the largest tree house in the world!" said Jim Goodman, with the city. "The kids will be able to enjoy our river, learn about nature, and play for hours and parents can enjoy more time downtown with shopping and restaurants surrounding the fun." We are excited about the opening date coinciding with the first football game of the season!
The most exciting thing will be a zip line that will cross the St. Johns River from the tree house to the southbank! Watch the river flow to the ocean and dolphins jumping down below as families zip across and back! On game day Sundays, adults will be able to ride the zip line from the South Bank across the river and uber to the stadium! So much fun for Jacksonville
There will be tons of safety features, it will be ADA accessible, and stroller friendly. There will be camping options, with weekend reservations already booking through December 31, 2018! FREE fun for all!
And while we LOVE this idea and think that Jacksonville families would love to have this as an amenity to downtown Jacksonville, we have to say that this is an April Fools joke!!! But for real, let's think about this everyone!!!
