West Riverside Elementary School

West Riverside Elementary School strives to provide an engaging learning environment in which students are afforded opportunities to develop their intellectual abilities, experience academic success, and learn how to be contributing members of their community. Students are provided with a comprehensive educational program that is aligned with the Florida Standards.

The Dual Language Program allows students, both native English, and Spanish speakers, to go through the District curriculum in English and Spanish. The lessons are not translated. The students progress through the Curriculum Guides half of the day in English and the other in Spanish. This program allows the students to become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural by the time they graduate high school. Students work towards becoming bilingual in elementary school and ultimately graduating high school with a Seal of Biliteracy. It is important to note that all students acquire a second language at varied rates.


We offer the program from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
