Cornerstone Special Education Advocacy

Cornerstone Special Education Advocacy

Our mission is to empower students with disabilities to become independent, self-sufficient, individuals that can self-advocate for their needs and become a productive part of society while contributing their gifts and talents to the community.

We coach and train parents of students with disabilities how to navigate and fully utilize special education services, so their child can have complete access to the same education that children without disabilities acquire.

We partner with parents whose children need special education services to develop strategies that will continue throughout their child’s education until completion. Those strategies also include a transition to the pursuit of higher education or into the workforce.

Cornerstone Special Education Advocacy is a non-profit agency that was started by Angel and Michael Wildes, a husband and wife team who have first hand experience at dealing with a child that needed special accommodations in his education. They are familiar with the frustrations and emotional battles that come with trying to figure out how to best serve the needs of a student who struggles in the classroom. They also understand the financial burden that many families face in order to find the right solutions for their child's education. This is one of the reasons they started special education advocacy Jacksonville

Angel holds a Ph.D. in Special Education. Her experience as an inclusion special education teacher and helping individuals with special needs, has helped her understand the process of how the school system operates, what the protocols are, what avenues to take in accommodations and how to employ those accommodations.

Michael is the business manager of Cornerstone Special Education Advocacy. His years of business management experience and listening to customers expectations has given him the ability to relate to people on a personal level and help them realize their potential.

Together, with a lot of prayerful consideration and confirmation, they feel that they are answering a calling that has drawn them into this endeavor. Both are deeply rooted in their faith and in their church home. They not only consider Cornerstone Special Education Advocacy their business but their ministry as well.
