November is Kids FREE Month in Jacksonville

November means Kids FREE at many of Jacksonville's top attractions, thanks to Visit Jacksonville and many of our own Fun 4 First Coast Kids advertisers (marked with *). November is the perfect time of year to take the kids out for some FUN exploring! The best part is Kids under 12 get in FREE all month long. Now's the time to get out for some quality family time while the kids learn something new at these kid-approved attractions.

We've rounded up all the details here so help spread the word by sharing with your friends and family!

Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens*

Escape to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens for the only walking safari in Northeast Florida! Make sure you stop to feed a giraffe and pet the stingrays, too! It's a true family adventure, and with recent updates to Land of the Tiger and African Forest, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is quickly becoming a world-class establishment. The Zoo has something for everyone with more than 2,000 rare and exotic animals and 1,000 varieties of plants.

Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary*

You don't want to mis the night feedings happening every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in November or the Day Tours happening every Thursday and Sunday at 1 pm. The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide a safe, loving, forever home for endangered big cats, and to educate the public about their plight in the wild and captivity. Enjoy a leisurely, guided tour of the sanctuary and see all the residents (Siberian tigers, lions, cougars, spotted and black leopards, bobcats, coatimundis and arctic foxes)!

Museum of Science & History (MOSH)*

From training to blasting off explore what it takes to become an astronaut in MOSH's newest traveling exhibition, Astronaut. Through hands-on stations, visitors can experience g-force, conduct maintenance on a space station, grow space food and learn the realities of showering, sleeping and using the toilet in space! In addition, MOSH features interactive, award-winning exhibitions such as Currents of Time, Atlantic Tails and JEA PowerPlay. The Museum's most popular exhibits include the health science exhibition, Health in Motion and the Florida Naturalist's Center, which houses animals native to Northeast Florida. Daily science shows, live animal shows, planetarium programs and a children's area – KidSpace – combine to ensure there is always something to stimulate the mind and awaken the imagination for guests of all ages. Don't forget it's Buy-one-get-one-half-off admission for adults on MOSH Mondays, sponsored by Fun 4 First Coast Kids!

Sweet Pete's*

You don't want to miss the sweetest spot in Jacksonville, Sweet Pete's! Swing by their Downtown location where you'll find 20,000 square feet of fun! Inside you will find a candy factory with an interactive gallery, two large retail areas, the new Alice in Wonderland themed 10 Sixth Grill, and dessert bar! The have seasonal candy classes for a delicious way to get in the holiday spirit! 

Build Your Own Candy Kabob at Sweet Pete's Candy. Kids can create their own candy skewer every Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00p to 6:30p in November.


Jacksonville Icemen*

Jacksonville Icemen, professional ice hockey team in Jacksonville, Florida offering family fun weekend entertainment! Our kids love the mascot, Blizzard! 

Receive (1) free child ticket with each adult ticket purchase. Must be pre-purchased by calling the Icemen front offices at 904-602-7825 at least 48 prior to the game. Not available at box office on day of game.


Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens*

The Cummer Museum is doing free glass blowing demonstrations on various dates in November, plus there is a Family Open Studio on November 17.  MOSH holds one of the finest art collections in the Southeast, with nearly 5,000 objects in its Permanent Collection. The Museum offers world-class art spanning from 2100 B.C. through the 21st century, features diverse special exhibits, and is home to the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain. Don't miss the Museum's 2.5 acres of historic gardens that are unique examples of early 20th century garden design, featuring reflecting pools, fountains, arbors, antique ornaments, and sculptures. The majestic Cummer Oak has a canopy of more than 150 feet and is one of the oldest trees in Jacksonville.

iFly

iFLY makes the dream of flight a reality with indoor skydiving in a safe and fun environment. Flyers of all ages 3 and up can do it and beginners are welcome!

Kids (ages 3 to 12) will receive a FREE 2 Flight Experience for every Adult purchase of a 2 Flight Experience. Both experiences must be flown on the same day/same flight group to be valid. Must call to book. Not valid for online reservations or existing reservations.


Main Event

Main Event offers a unique, "EatBowlPlay" experience featuring state-of-the-art bowling, multi-level laser tag, thrilling high ropes adventure courses, captivating game rooms featuring the latest video and amusement, stylish billiards, energetic bars and high-quality restaurants. In addition to providing free WiFi, guests rave about the superior value of activities including happy hour specials, combination deals, and the birthday, private and corporate parties/events.

Up to 5 children (12 and under) will receive a 15 minute game card. This time card is 15 minutes of all you can play video games. No points or prizes awarded.


Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville

Head to the Fifth Floor to explore sixteen fun and interactive stations that link basic visual art principles with works in MOCA Jacksonville's Permanent Collection. This lively educational environment is great fun for kids of all ages, and parents or accompanying adults can learn about art right along with them. MOCA Jacksonville, a cultural institute of the University of North Florida, promotes the art, artists, and ideas of our time. Its programs are designed to enhance an understanding and appreciation of modern and contemporary art. With fascinating and fun events popping up each week, you always have a new reason to visit MOCA Jacksonville. MOCA Jacksonville is located in the heart of downtown across from Hemming Park and is open six days a week, including Thursday evenings. Parking is easy with many metered spots within a few blocks or a garage.

Jacksonville Symphony

One of the nation's top regional orchestras, the Jacksonville Symphony offers a variety of live symphonic music in the acoustically superb Jacoby Symphony Hall at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts, and engages the community in many ways throughout the First Coast and statewide.

Children between the ages of 7 and 17 are able to attend certain concerts for free with an adult single ticket purchase. More information can be found at their website


Kayak Amelia

Kayak Amelia is the official concessionaire in Talbot Islands State Parks, offering guided kayak, SUP and Segway ecotours as well as kayak, stand up paddleboard (SUP) & bike rentals, SUP instruction, SUP yoga and a summer kid's camp.

One child (age 12 and under) can go free on guided kayak tour or rental. Cannot be used for special events or combined with any other discount. This offer is not intended for schools or organizations. Not valid Thanksgiving weekend.


Kona Skate Park

Since 1977 Kona Skate Park has been one of the most iconic skateboarding parks in the world, and you can experience it in Jacksonville's Arlington neighborhood.

For any adult ticket purchased, you will receive a ticket for a child (ages 7-17) for free.


Ritz Theatre and Museum

The Ritz Theatre and Museum is the premiere African American arts facility in the historical LaVilla area of downtown Jacksonville. Welcome one and all to The Playground at the Ritz Theatre and Museum featuring Scribes & Vibes. On November 17, there will be games, poetry, jazz, local talent, and a museum tour. This event is FREE and open to the public. Scribes & Vibes is a place for Jacksonville's talent to showcase their poetry and spoken word skills while enjoying an afternoon at the museum. Scribes & Vibes will take place 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the museum, and The Playground take place Noon - 4 p.m. in the lobby featuring old school card and board games with music. Enjoy this community day with things for the whole family to enjoy!

Adventure Kayak Florida

Their family kayaking tours are always conducted in calm protected water which means you kayak in smooth, non-threatening paddling conditions. A relaxed casual pace, along with frequent breaks and lots of snacks, allows for everyone to enjoy the outdoors on their own terms. Even "tentative" paddlers learn to relax and enjoy the amazing outdoors on our family tours.

For any adult kayak or canoe rental purchase, you will receive a free kayak or canoe rental for up to 3 children (ages 7-17).


King Pins Bowling

King Pins Bowling Center, owned and operated by The Potter's House International Ministries, was created with you in mind. We are located inside the Kingdom Plaza at Normandy Mall, with Twenty USBC regulated lanes, full-service snack-bar, pro shop, arcade games, and pool tables. We offer the perfect place to host birthday parties, fundraisers, and corporate events. Our helpful staff will cater to your needs and ensure a memorable experience.

Durkeeville Historical Society

The goal of the Durkeeville Historical Society is to help educate about the historic African American community.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in the month of November 2019. Kids 3-13 free with a paying adult. Enjoy a tour and historical film. Children receive a free book.
