CLASS SIZE LIMIT: We limit class size to 16-18 children to allow our staff to provide quality instruction.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SUMMER CAMPS: If your child is unable to attend the summer camp session for which you registered, please inform us as soon as possible. If you notify us at least 21 days before the first day of the camp, we will issue you a full refund for the cost of the camp less the credit card processing fees we encountered. If you provide at least 7 days’ notice, we will attempt to rebook the summer camp session. If we are successful, we will provide you with a credit valid for one year which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the camp session or if you provide less than 7 days’ notice, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. a fun camp where the kids actually learn something!

Policies

PARENTS IN THE STUDIO: Parents may enter the cooking studio to drop off and pick up their children. Other than that, they are permitted in the studio only during the first and the last ten minutes of each camp day.

CHILDREN BECOMING ILL:  If a child begins to display symptoms of illness once at camp, that child will be isolated in a separate room attended by a JAX Cooking Studio staff member. The parent will be required to pick up the ill child within thirty minutes of being notified by JAX Cooking Studio that the child is ill.

THE COOKING EXPERIENCE: We aim to have each child get as much hands-on cooking experience as possible. Throughout the week, the children will prepare some recipes on their own and will work together in groups of 2-3 to make some recipes.

HAND-WASHING: Hand-washing sinks are spaced throughout the cooking studio. Children will be taught the proper way to wash their hands and turn off the faucet. They will be prompted many times throughout the camp session to wash their hands.

No studying required!

Curriculum

Our camps are hands-on, and the kids eat what they make each day. Yum! In our collaborative environment, we:

• Promote kitchen safety, including hand and workspace sanitizing, proper food handling, and knife safety
• Practice math by following recipes and measuring ingredients
• Arrange the kitchen workplace for success
• Discuss food science, nutrition, and keeping our bodies healthy
• Explore the importance of sustainability and eating what is in season
• Encourage creativity in reusing or repurposing ingredients already on hand
• Become experts in cleaning up the kitchen
• Learn to work independently and as a team!

Summer Camp Reviews

What People Are Saying

“Welcoming and knowledgeable staff”

If you haven’t tried Jax Cooking Studio, you must!! I recently took my 5 year old grandson there. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful–instructions were given clearly and printed recipes were available at every station. Very well organized and very clean!

“My children made me dinner!”

My girls enjoyed the cooking classes so much that they made a dinner of fresh made pasta on their own last night.I can’t thank JAX Cooking Studio enough for their wonderful classes and for giving my children the confidence and desire to cook!

“My Son is ‘resident chef’ at his college dorm”

“Thank you for the skills your staff taught my son in summer camp. He started college this fall and has become the “resident chef” for his dorm mates. He loved the class at the time but I had no idea he would retain and use that knowledge.

Keep up the good work!”

“Fantastic way to foster my child’s love of cooking”

This is a fantastic way to foster your child’s love of cooking and baking! The recipes are so good and easy to follow. The party was a blast and all the children left with the cupcakes and banana bread they made themselves. Highly recommend!
