Fruitful Vine opened on May 18, 1998 by Sharon Schmidt, Licensed Midwife, to offer a safe place for women and families looking for alternative birth options. We started out as a home birth practice and after seven years, expanded by opening Jacksonville's first birth center in 21 years.

Over the years there have been many babies born but we are especially happy with all the families that have been 'born'. Countless familes have returned to Fruitful Vine to birth subsequent babies.
