Join us as we light up the new 10' x 10' x 10' lighted sculpture that is being installed at Jesse Smith Memorial Park. The brightly painted sculpture will sparkle with thousands of small, glowing polycarbonate lights. Visitors will be able to peer through its eight 6-foot-long hollow prisms to view kaleidoscopic images of downtown architecture and the Florida Theatre's neon marquee.
Numa Saisselin, President of the Florida Theatre and President of the Board of Downtown Vision, will have the honor the throwing the switch, and the artist will be present to describe the inspiration for the work and speak about her intent.
The JAXOSCOPE is sponsored by the Downtown Investment Authority's urban art program.
The artist, Shasti O'Leary Soudant, is a sculptor, designer and writer based in Buffalo, NY.
