Meet Dr. Bolivar

Dr. Marisol Bolivar wants to welcome you and your family to The Tooth Cottage Children’s Dentistry! Dr. Bolivar received both her Doctorate in Dental Medicine and certificate in pediatric dentistry from Nova Southeastern University. She has provided pediatric dental care locally since 2019 and opened the doors to The Tooth Cottage in 2022. Dr. Bolivar loves working with children and can work with your little one to achieve their healthiest smile!

Did you know the quality of sleep your child receives affects their growth and development? Reading that sentence out loud may sound like a no brainer, yet Sleep Disordered Breathing in children is often overlooked by medical and dental professionals alike. It is all related to a child’s airway and how well they are breathing through their nose, especially at night. Snoring, grinding, restless sleep, bed wetting, thumb sucking, morning headaches, seasonal allergies, speech impairments and hyperactivity are all little clues that tell us your child may not be resting adequately.

As your child develops, Dr. Bolivar will monitor them for developmental changes in the oral cavity that can affect their airway. The HealthyStart™ system is a great tool to address some of these concerns and we encourage you to learn more or ask us for more information … because baby teeth will eventually wiggle out, but the benefit of good sleep will last a lifetime.

From routine check-ups to handling unexpected dental emergencies, our expert team is here to ensure your little one's oral health. If your child has a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Toothache

If your child is battling a persistent toothache, do not wait. Reach out to us promptly for expert guidance. Our caring team is available to provide relief and address their dental discomfort. Your child’s oral well-being is our top priority, and we are here to help in times of need.

Facial Swelling

Detect facial swelling or a puffy cheek? Reach out to us promptly so that we can determine what the problem is. But, if swelling nears the eye or affects breathing, it is urgent. Dial 911 or head to the closest ER if this is the case.

Broken Teeth

In case of a chipped or broken tooth, locate any fragments, apply a cold compress and contact us promptly to schedule your child’s emergency appointment with us.

Cut Lips, Tongues or Cheeks

In case of cuts to lips, tongues or cheeks, soothe with a cold compress, assess teeth for looseness, administer pain medication and contact us for guidance on what to do before bringing in your child in for their emergency dental appointment.

Knocked-Out Permanent Teeth

If your child loses a permanent tooth, act quickly: place it in milk, not water. Contact us immediately for expert care. Avoid touching the root. At school or sports? Seek Save-A-Tooth Solution from an athletic trainer or nurse to preserve tooth cells effectively.

Knocked-Out Baby Teeth

When a little explorer knocks out a baby tooth, do not worry! Rinse gently, apply a cold cloth and call us to schedule your emergency visit. We will be able to take care of your child and make them smile again.

Loose Space Maintainers

While uncommon, a loose space maintainer can occur due to sticky treats or biting on hard objects. If this happens, promptly remove, clean and attempt to reposition it. If fully dislodged, save it as it is tailored for your child’s tooth.
