Our highly skilled and experienced Speech-Language Pathologists can evaluate and treat preschool children with language-based phonological awareness & early literacy deficits through 6 years of age. They provide individualized evaluations to determine each child’s specific profile of strengths and weaknesses. Common areas of assessment include early literacy skills, phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, reading rate, reading accuracy, overall reading fluency, spelling skills, and reading comprehension. Oral and written language skills may also be assessed to rule out the possibility of a language disorder that may be contributing to reading difficulties. These results, along with academic records and any previous assessments such as psycho-educational evaluations, are used to determine an appropriate therapeutic based program to meet the child’s individual needs.
One or more strategies from the following research-based, multi-sensory programs may be utilized to create a program tailored to the child’s strengths and weaknesses.
