The program is designed to give aspiring dancers knowledge of professional dance. We seek to train students to become proficient in many different techniques. It is our mission to build exposure, knowledge, and versatility within the Jacksonville Centre of the Arts dance program. This is the opportunity to gain proper habits, work ethic, discipline and techniques necessary for a successful dance student. The program is curriculum based. Classes will consist of Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Stretch/Conditioning, musical theatre, Hip-Hop and West-African. This is an audition based program and ALL classes within the curriculum are required for attendance. The immersion into this intensive dance school allows students to advance through a higher level of training. Classes consist of barre, centre, turns, jumps by honing in on the dancers abilities. The classes will offer strength building combinations, breaking down the technique, musicality, focusing on memorization, connecting phrases, and quality of performance through advanced terminology. The instructors will identify with each individual dancer, advising them of helpful at home exercises for strength building and to raise the level of their abilities to create a true love and appreciation of the art of dance.
