Terri Mashour

Terri is a second generation Jacksonville native and work from home mompreneur. She attended college at The College of Charleston in South Carolina. Following an internship with the USDA Forest Service schlepping through the bottom-land wetlands of the Charleston swamps and researching sweet grass plants utilized by the basket weavers of the Charleston markets, she went on to complete a Master's Degree in Forest Resources and Conservation at The University of Florida. After growing up in the City of Jacksonville and always heading to the beach for fun, never setting foot in the woods, she was delightfully surprised to find herself working for almost a decade alongside mostly cowboys and men in Florida's woods. She is a Florida Certified Prescribed Burner, qualified to lead prescribed burns and respond to forest fires either by woods fire engine, horseback, ATV, on foot, alongside helicopters (that either drop fire or water!), or next to huge bulldozers. When she wasn't working she enjoyed playing beach volleyball, hiking and running. She has hiked the 4 day Incan Trail to Machu Picchu, trails throughout Alaska, hiked a volcano to within arms reach of flowing lava in Guatemala, and on almost every trail in Northeast Florida. She has run 4 half marathons and 2 marathons, but don’t worry - she hasn’t beaten Oprah Winfrey’s marathon time yet! Oh how all this work and fun changed post kids! After her first baby was born, she made the painful decision to leave her beloved woods career to foster the extreme attachment she felt for her new daughter. Soon following, she finished her second Master’s Degree at University of Florida in Ecological Restoration, but moved instead to co-found Fun4FirstCoastKids.com with her sister, and business partner, Susie, to work from home and be with her two children. Running and hiking are squeezed into the schedule now while she's out and about on Florida’s First Coast with her two children and her peaceful, hardworking, and witty husband, Hugh, as they introduce the kids to the woods and nature and work to find fun and free things to do with kids to share with local families.

Susie Mashour Rawlins

Susie is a second generation Jacksonville Native and work at home mompreneur. She attended Florida State University where she earned her AA degree and graduated from Flagler College, closer to sand, sun and family. Having always had a place in her heart for youth, she worked for many years as a kindergarten teacher before going on to help open Bartram Springs Elementary where she taught third grade for 5 years. While teaching, she completed her Master's Degree at the University of North Florida (go Swoop go) in Educational Leadership. She decided to take a break from teaching to stay at home with her son and sweet/strong willed beagle, Charlie, however she is grateful for the working/stay at home mom balance that Fun4FirstCoastKids.com provides. She enjoys playing volleyball, reading, hiking, cooking, and eating! She enjoys sharing her teaching knowledge with other local moms by blogging with Fun4FirstCoastKids. You can find her with her son and husband Chris out and about at fun family events all over town, especially if there’s food involved!
