Friday Mornings in JaxParks

JaxParks, in partnership with the Timucuan Parks Foundation, is seeking volunteers to participate in a series of volunteer projects on Friday mornings throughout the summer.

Friday, June 8 (9am-noon) @ Losco Regional Park (10931 Hood Road South)
-Trail and garden maintenance
-Volunteers requested to bring pruners, work gloves and water
-Meet in picnic area

Friday, June 22 (9am-noon) @ Huguenot Memorial Park (10980 Heckscher Dr)
-Removal of invasive plants
-Volunteers requested to bring work gloves and water
-Identify self as volunteer when arriving at park entrance station for free entry; meet in parking lot by the Nature Center

Friday, July 6 (9am-noon) @ Palmetto Leaves Regional Park (SOUTH ENTRANCE!) (Old St Augustine Rd)
-Trail maintenance
-Volunteers requested to bring loppers/pruners, work gloves and water
-Meet in parking lot (make sure you go to the SOUTH entrance off of Old St. Augustine Rd)

Friday, July 13 (9am-noon) @ Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park (500 Wonderwood Drive)
-Trail maintenance and/or invasive plant removal
-Volunteers requested to bring loppers/pruners, work gloves and water
-Identify self as volunteer when arriving at park entrance station for free entry; meet in parking lot just behind the front gate/visitors center

Friday, August 3 (9am-noon) @ Castaway Island Preserve (2885 San Pablo Rd S)
-Butterfly garden maintenance and shoreline litter pickup
-Volunteers requested to bring pruners, work gloves and water
-Meet in the picnic area behind the education building

For all projects, volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes and it is highly recommended that they bring work gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, sunglasses and water. Volunteers must follow all park rules and policies as well as promote and exhibit safe behavior at all times. Children under 16 must be supervised by their parent/guardian or scout leader during the project. Anyone under 18 years old must have signature of parent/guardian on liability waiver prior to starting work; waiver can be obtained by clicking here
