Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is offering $10 general admission to the Zoo to evacuees from Hurricane Florence. The discount will be applied at the gates to those with IDs from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
Just one year ago, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens was recovering from damage sustained from Hurricane Irma. The Zoo knows that when routines are disrupted, when people are away from home and worried, a distraction like a day at the Zoo can lift spirits.
It couldn’t be a better time to bring out-of-state visitors to the Zoo with the opening of the great ape’s African Forest exhibit less than two weeks ago, Dinosauria in its last stretch at the Zoo, and the exciting Fiesta del Jaguar on Saturday, September 15.
The Zoo would also like to extend good luck to all of the zoos and aquariums in the path of the storm and the dedicated keepers who are there to take care of their animals.
