The Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center provides cutting edge advocacy, research, training/technical assistance and model programming to bring about unprecedented systemic reform for girls and young women in or at risk of entering the juvenile justice and child welfare systems in Northeast Florida.
We focus on girls already in the juvenile justice and foster care systems, and girls whose circumstances are likely to lead them into those systems.
Our goal is to help all those who interact with girls-- from teacher and counselors to police officers and judges-- to see each girl in the context of her life and her lived experiences, and respond to her in a way that builds on her strengths and helps her flourish.
