Rutledge Pearson Center & Playground

Rutledge Pearson, was president of the local branch of the NAACP during the height of the civil rights movement. He was a civics teacher who taught his black students lessons that were more reflective of the world that they lived in rather than just the lessons that were put forth in their hand-me-down textbooks.
