Nassau County WIC Program- Breastfeeding Support and Classes

The Nassau County WIC Program uses the Loving Support Curriculum to provide breastfeeding promotion, education, and support.

The Nassau County WIC Program has breastfeeding peer counselors to support and educate new mothers on breastfeeding. These peer counselors work from home and make telephone contacts with WIC prenatal and new mothers to support breastfeeding.

We also provide a Breastfeeding Warmline. The telephone is manned by a Certified Lactation Counselor and is available from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. Messages left after hours are returned the following morning.

You do not need to be currently certified in the WIC Program to attend the classes. Supportive friends and family are encouraged to attend also.
