UF Health Jacksonville offers a variety of classes to help parents throughout the pregnancy as well as the first few months following the baby's birth. Our classes help parents explore their options and make informed decisions about their childbirth experience and prepare them to become confident parents. They will learn what to expect during pregnancy and what’s likely to happen during labor and delivery. There also is a boot camp for new dads.
Childbirth Education is a monthly class offered through the Little Miracles program. Classes cover topics on pain management, labor, cesarean delivery and breastfeeding. Classes are held at UF Health Jacksonville’s 8th Street campus the second and third Saturdays of each month and at UF Health North the fourth Saturdays of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a break for lunch. To register, please call 904-885-5768.
Mommy Mingle is a free breastfeeding and postpartum monthly support group for new moms to learn more about the changes and challenges that can occur after childbirth. The group allows moms to connect with each other in a safe, supportive space and share ideas for adjusting to the "new normal" that arrives alongside motherhood. Babies from 2 weeks to 1 year are welcome to attend with their moms. This group meets every second Tuesday of the month from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the patient tower first floor conference rooms at UF Health North.
