Nassau County Public Library Summer Reading Program

Dig into summer reading at Nassau County Public Library! Join us as we kick off a summer of reading and discovery. At this event you will be able to learn about our summer reading challenge, get information about our summer programing, and receive your first prize when you sign up to participate. Our Summer Reading Program will launch in Beanstack on May 17. This year’s theme, Unearth a Story, focuses on discovery, archaeology, paleontology, and dinosaurs to spark curiosity across all ages. The program encourages readers to explore hidden histories, dig into great books, and uncover personal and community stories.

The Unearth a Story Summer Reading Challenge differs from our year-round challenges by offering physical prizes in addition to digital rewards. This year, children can earn fun dinosaur stickers each week by logging 105 minutes of reading. But, wait, that’s not all folks!

Participants of all ages who complete the challenge by logging a total of 1,050 minutes- just 15 minutes a day, seven days a week, for 10 weeks- will be eligible for a variety of prizes. Last year, we awarded 82 prizes, including gift cards to local businesses and restaurants, tickets to the Jacksonville Zoo, gift baskets, and more.
