At Wolfson Children’s Hospital, toys are part of the patients’ healing process, and the hospital relies on toy donations to bring comfort and joy to the infants, kids and teens in receiving care. During the summer months, the hospital begins to run low on these supplies. Child Life staff and volunteers with Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Baptist Health will collect new, unwrapped toys, art supplies and financial donations to purchase developmentally appropriate toys for kids with special needs during the Christmas in July Toy and Donation Drive.
Baptist Health and Jersey Mike’s Subs locations will collect toys July 1–25. To give a gift online or make a monetary donation, visit ChristmasJuly.com.
The best toys for kids in the hospital are ones that keep them busy and don’t require a lot of energy. Items that can be played with in bed are wonderful for children who aren’t able to be up and moving around.
