"Alopecia and Me, Annabelle Lee!" is a children’s book that promotes healthy self-esteem and embracing differences. The author, Lendon Rouse, is a Jacksonville native and personally knows the challenges of living with alopecia and is seeking to educate children on the condition with the hopes of spreading a universal message of acceptance.
Lendon is holding a Virtual Author Meet & Greet on Saturday, February 27 at 11 am via Zoom. We would love for you to attend! To register, visit www.lendonrouse.com
The Virtual Author Meet & Greet will engage a variety of interests.
For the child: The event’s storytime includes a reading of Alopecia and Me, Annabelle Lee! as well as other books with comparable themes. The storytime will be entertaining and will provide valuable lessons on how we treat each other.
For the parent/caregiver: The event allows for quality time with your little one and gives an important opportunity for teachable moments. According to Healthline, reading aloud to children helps with their listening skills, vocabularies, attention spans, social and emotional development, and more. In addition, all attendees have the chance to win prizes which includes a free copy of Alopecia and Me, Annabelle Lee!
For the educator: Alopecia and Me, Annabelle Lee! would be a great addition to your school library and could be used to support your curriculum and program needs. This event allows you to preview the content of the book and ask any questions you may have.
