First Coast Blessings in a Backpack provides weekend nutrition to more than 5500 children each week through 46 Dedicated School Partners in 3 counties. Our school partners know firsthand the students that are hungry and hurting. These children depend on their school for food during the week, so when Friday rolls around, they may not eat again until the Monday bell rings. That's more than 60 hours of not knowing when or if they will eat again.These are the children Blessings serves.
We provide healthy, delicious, ready to eat weekend nutrition kits directly to our schools each Thursday. Each kit contains a balanced, menu of beloved national brands that has been kid taste tested and approved. Teachers & counselors place them into backpacks on Friday so hungry children have something nutritious and delicious to eat on Saturday and Sunday.
Together we nourish the children that need us most, at the time it is most needed. Our Mission happens when these children arrive to school bellies full, brains engaged, imaginations fired up and ready to learn and play.
