On the Shoreline with Jax Dragonfly Academy

What can you find along the edge of the ocean? The shoreline can be a harsh environment, but many animals and plants have adaptations to help them survive. Discover the creatures that call this environment home.
What to Expect
We will have a shore animal mini-lesson, followed by a sea shell ID game. We will then do a crustacean dissection (pre-cut animals). Lastly, we will attempt to find creatures on the shoreline. Bring clothes that can get wet!
Who Is This For?
This program is appropriate for school age children through high school. This class has a focus on experiential learning, so kids are encouraged to ask questions about things they find along the way. It will be fun and hands on for the younger kids, while still being challenging enough for older kids. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
What to Bring
Bugspray, Water bottle, Shoes/Sandals & clothes that can get wet (Swimsuits are ok)
Optional: A towel or blanket to sit on, a jug for rinsing feet before you go home

Driving South on A1A: You will pass on the right North Beach Access, Six Mile Landing, Middle Beach Access, Turn right at the South Beach Access. We will meet in the parking lot.
Driving North on A1A: Pass the GTMNERR Environmental Education Center on the left at Guana Rd. Take the next immediate left at the South Beach Access. We will meet in the parking lot.
