If your child is into science, technology, engineering and math (or would they like to be), this is the time for them to shine. Read or talk through a STEM book with us and then we’ll do a STEM-based activity together.
Attention, Junior Scientists! This STEM-based program for ages 5-8 features a book and science activities that encourage deep thinking, inquiry, and fun.
Each week we will use a variety of materials that you may have at home to explore a scientific concept. This week’s needed materials are:
Theme: Texture and Touch
Featured Book: Hedgehugs by Steve Wilson & Lucy Tapper
(At least) 3 SEPARATE cups containing ice water and/or 3 pinecones
Featured Book: The Sound of Silence by Katrina Goldsaito
4 water glasses
A measuring cup
A metal spoon
Optional: food coloring
